Salman Khan maybe has graduated to killing people, from killing black bucks

Actor Salman Khan, who surrendered to the Mumbai police after a case of rash and negligent driving was registered against him this morning, was granted bail by a Bandra court.
One person was killed and three others injured, when a car reportedly being driven by the actor drove over them.

    Private VS Government

The sad story of Touchtel and Other Such Insensitive Private Enterprises

I went to the mess for dinner as usual tonite at around 2200 hours. In the middle of my meal the mess owner, his friend, me and another colleague of mine started discussing about Touchtel and its awful service. The conversation led to some insights:
    • I mailed a post card through our postal services, and a letter through a private courier/ The card reached first and the letter was delayed by 2 days - Mess owner
    • BSNL phone service is better than Touchtel's. They respond to service calls faster. Mess owner's friend
    • I found a PCO 10000ft above sea level, somewhere near Mussorie. It belongs to the government - my colleague
    • VSNL is, was always, the best ISP - me
I had written about net4domains and its screwed-up service. And also about Touchtel and its totally customer-hostile attitude... tonite I concluded that in India - only governement service can work. They have no profit motive. The private enterprise wants to make money, but is not ready to offer sincere, fast and reliable service. The Bhartis, the net4indias, the RPGs, the satyams... they have absolutely no clue what service means. God fuck them all. I am writing this in my capacity as a citizen of this country, and also as an aggrieved customer of a few of the aforementioned morons.

Tag Boards: A new super-cool comments system for your blog

I have been using yaccs for comments on my blogs, but I find Tag-boardamazingly simple to use and super cool!

"Tag boards are a new means of communication on the Internet. They are not a replacement for high-end message boards or forums, but rather they have far different uses. The real power of a tag board is its simplicity, which encourages visitors to enter a brief message and "Tag" for instant gratification, hassle-free. There is no special registration to fill out and no hoops to jump through..."
    Get your own Tag-board!

    Krish Srikanth on Sony Max

When Ruby bhati was rolling all the 'R' sounds of hindi and really trying to live up to her 'born-in-phirang-land' image and Charu sharma's staccato English was driving me nuts, out of the blue Krish says 'Naa namba maaten, he is peel adichi-fying' in Madras Tamil. Felt good! Why the fuck do they bring in the dim-wit dolls into cricket commentary man! I am sure Krish also thinks the same thing.

Phew! I got my blog back

I was trying to move this blog to my domain sumankumar.com but it proved to extremely difficult for me, given my code-ignorance. I just couldn't understand how to upload my files to my ftp server and make them inter-connected. No man! I am happy with blog*spot. Thanks a lot. And it is not like there is so much of help out there. Not the concerend sites (net4domain) or my techie friends. This is probably the first time I am cribbing on this blog. Fuck! I hate technology.

    I have a niece. Finally.

I was online this morning and one of my friends buzzed me. He said "Your sis-in-law gave birth to a baby girl" I was hoping it'd be a girl. And my prayers were answered. Now, I gotta go start planning my own baby girl. I mean I need to get hitched man!

Of technology leaders and their web sites

It pains me that firms that are at the forefront of the technology revolution miss out on the obvious.
I wanted to host my site so I visited net4domains. I found it so tough to process my order (in plain English: buy something) and ultimately I gave up and wrote them a stinker of a mail. I got a response some 12 hours later; that guy said sir maybe because of the slow internet connection you were not able to make a credit card payment online, why dont you send us a check or a draft?

You can apply for a job with the president's office from The white house website!

Truly amazing. I am left with too few adjectives to describe this great nation called America and its people-centricness. I bow to thee! The land of liberty!

Can Computer Technology Stop Global Warming?

    Sun Microsystems

    www.sun.com

On 20 March 2002, the San Jose Mercury News, certainly not known to be the most reputable scientific publication, reported on the disintegration of Larsen B, an ice shelf the size of Rhode Island that had existed since the last ice age. Is this proof, or at least an indication of global warming, or is it part of the normal climate fluctuation? Sooner or later, science will have to provide an answer to this question, an answer that will allow political and economic decisions to be made. Sooner would be better than later.
